Ticks in a lawn can be a health hazard. Lyme disease can wreak havoc with one's well-being
Generally in lawns that are regularly mowed, ticks are rarely a problem
However if your well-maintained lawn is near a field or forest or other naturally wild areas, the ticks sometimes end up on your lawn. This can be from cats, dogs, or even raccoons that wander through the taller grasses in the fields and then drop the ticks in your yard.
Here are a couple tick photos of a tick that jumped onto my clothing one day in May. The tick didn't want to stay still while we were trying to take is photo, so my son wrapped it in clear hockey tape before taking the photo. The photo shows the top of the tick and the underside as well.
